Britt Farms is proudly owned and operated by Vernon & Jennifer Britt, of Mount Olive, NC. Our farm has been in Vernon's family since his great-great-great-great-great grand-daddy began farming the nearly 100 acres deeded to our family in the mid-1600's. The Britt family had been tending our legacy of land, in tobacco, corn and soybeans, but hard times have come to farming, and if farmers want to keep their land, they have to change too. So we are changing... For our family, changing meant getting a job off the farm to pay the bills. At age 20, Vernon had to work off the farm, but his love of farming never left him. After he retired in 2005, our family decided to diversify our farm and grow premium quality, local produce to offer directly to our customers. We have been selling our farm-fresh products at the Raleigh Farmers' Market, and decided it was time to start our Community Supported Agriculture subscription program in 2008. |

This year, we are excited to offer our customers a delicious delivery of 25 weeks of healthy, freshly-harvested, sustainably-grown, local produce, from April 13th through October 1st, every Tuesday at Duke, every Wednesday at CISCO, every Thursday at RTI and every Friday at Amberly. Once you sign up you may pick up your weekly share at the Duke Gardens delivery site between 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm every Tuesday afternoon, on the CISCO Campus every Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, at St. Saviour’s Center on Thursdays from 3-6 pm, at RTI Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and at Amberly Fridays from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.To give you an idea of the size of our typical couple and family share subscription value and volume, and take a look at the table and the registration form, please click here. It is an example for a week in July. We offer two different size boxes for you to choose from: Couple (feeds 1 to 2 adults) and Family (feeds 2 adults, 2 children). Our son Andrew was born June 22, 1990, and is our youngest child and only son. Andrew had a brilliant mind and was like a sponge, just absorbed everything. He loved farming, but he wanted to attend Campbell for pharmacy. He always said that he would be the one to return home and continue with the farming. Andrew was a very active participant in the Future Farmers of America at Southern Wayne High School. He attended all of the state and national confernces while in FFA. During the 2007-2008 school year he was the secretary of the FFA and was voted Outstanding Member for 2007-2008. He took pride in our farm and was active in every aspect of the farming.
